Setup Assistant: Status screen Issues

Postby debpes » Fri Feb 03, 2012 2:15 pm

I've been importing hands for about 90 minutes now. The status bar was displayed and showing me updates. When I resized the window, the status bar disappeared.

See attachment.

My laptop went into sleep mode while PT4 was importing. Looks like it has totally stalled now. I will try and restart.

Maybe the status details should also include a viewable timestamp. This would help users see that things were progressing and let us assess better how long the import is taking.

UPDATE: My bad. It was still importing. But it shows this as the status: Imported 216,912 of 216,914 hands and 656 of 656 tournament summaries...

So I'm not sure what happened to the 2 missing hands. But it's still churning. I'm sure we don't need to reinvent the wheel; there must be a better visual cue for the user to know things are still churning.

I'll make that suggestion to the development team on your behalf.

Thanks.

I really appreciate the opportunity to help with the beta testing. I work in SW development in an Oracle DB environment, actually in gathering business requirements and communicating with customers about updates, etc. Before that I was a technical writer for SW. So I enjoy being able to see how things are progressing. Combine that with being a very determined recreational player with a love of PT3 and this is a really great opportunity for me.

You guys are doing a great job and being amazingly responsive to the users. Just one of the reasons I chose to go with PT over that other company. :D
