Anti-aliasing - my first impression

As one of the first who complained about the fuzzy fonts, I'll give my impression on the new anti-aliasing option.

I tested on the replayer only. The option makes a BIG difference when the replayer is full sized (either once opened or maximized) and the fonts and colours look MUCH better with anti aliasing ON.

However, once we shrink the window to it's minimum possible size (and the HUD shrinks as well) both anti-aliasing ON and OFF look exactly the same. Both look a bit fuzzy/blurred (I went from font 11 to 6 with same results).

So... problem seems to persist (at least for me) when the HUD is tiny.

I think what you'll need to do is change your hud profile to use a larger font. That way, when it scales down, it doesn't scale down to such a small font.

I took a look at your screenshots. The text is readable, but does seem a little blurry. This is the fault of the font, not PT4. PT4 can't change the way the font draws. The only solution is to draw using a larger font.

Why was able to use font 5 on PT3 and it looked simply perfect?

I know PT4 scales down and PT3 didn't; trouble is, PT4's HUD looks bad EVEN when it's quite larger than PT3's HUD was - and that makes no sense.

It's hard to believe I had a great, tiny and crisp readable HUD in the previous version and now I have to settle for a big and blurred one.

The HUD is quite usable, it's just not (by far) as good as PT3 was.

And I'll head off myself next Moday and will only come back around 12 January.

Just did it.

You'll notice how good the PT3 one looks, even considering it's actually smaller than the PT4 one but contains the exact same data.
