Error with database

cant seem to repair my database not sure why maybe you can help.

i go to repair database asks me if i want to back it up i go ok and it starts the process of backing it up. but part way thru a pop up comes up and says: Database c:\program files\poker tracker omaha\ptracko2.mdb needs to be repaired - i then press ok
and i get get another pop up and it says: odbc microsoft access driver login failed invalid argument and then i hit ok again it goes back to the previous statement and so on until i hit cancel. i then get a new pop up that says:

powerbuilder application execution error (r0043) application terminated
error: parent object doesn't exist at line 37 in function of_repairdatabase of object h_cst_appvars

i hit ok and then i get one more pop up:

powerbuilder application execution error (r0002) appliction terminated
error: null object reference at line 27 in destructor event of object n_cst_appvars
i hit ok and then pto shut down but my old database still works. Need help please

also if there is nothing i can do, i do have a backed up file of this database in my pto files and it was backed up on the 21st of this month. i just dont know how to restore the backed up file. so it there is nothing the can be done maybe i could get some instructions on how to restore backed up files.thanks.

tried thoughs things didn't work and i wont even let me try and repair it. so could you tell me how to restore back up files then?

Did you see what it said after the part about repairing the database? You'll need to create a new database or convert to PostgreSQL. If you can't even open the stats for the original database then let me know.

i cant even open the stats to this database.

OK, close PTO. Open a Windows Explorer window and go to the Poker Tracker Omaha folder under Program Files. The repair process should have created a file called ptracko_repair.mdb. Once you find that file, find the ptracko.mdb file and rename it to ptracko_bad.mdb. Then rename the ptracko_repair.mdb file to ptracko.mdb. Then run PTO again.

thank ptracker mike. i tried the changing the name thing but that didn't seem to work either. so i just restored my backed up data from awhile ago lucky it wasn't to old. thanks for the help.

Hi, I am having the same problem described here, but I do not know how to retrieve backed-up data like the previous poster did. Any help appreciated.

Did you make a backup of the data besides what the repair process made for you? If not, try doing what I said in my last reply.
