My 8.2 file takes up 76 GB of hard drive space which is becoming inconvenient. Is this normal? Is there a safe way to eliminate files without screwing up my DB's? I'm using PT2 until PT3 gets the HUD straightened out. My primary DB contains only 85,000 hands of my play and millions of observed hands without me playing. I do not need more than a couple of months of observed hands but they are all mixed in with my hands in the same database. Any guidance?

Use the Utilities > Database Maintenance and Options window, Advanced Purge button to purge these observed hands. You can enter date ranges and other critieria of what you want to purge.

You should do a FULL vacuum/analyze BEFORE and then AFTER you do this process to free up disk space.

Is there a way to purge only hands in which I was not seated at the table?

That's what the "Observed Hands Only" box is for on the advanced purge window. Please click the help link at the top right corner of the window for more detail.

I tried to do a full vacuum/analyze and, after five hours, I checked task manager to find that Poker Tracker was not responding. I ended the task and now I cannot even open PT at all--the hard drive keeps spinning but task manager shows the progam not responding. Any help?

Restart the computer.

You need to let it run, it's not PT doing this function, PT calls the PostgreSQL function to do this and with a db of that size, and if you've never done this before it's going to take a while.
