I would like to write queries on the database directly, in addition to using poker tracker. I would like to explore an idea i have about what would be a good measuer. I have had much experience writing SQL, table creation, administration, querying data, but that was about 10 years ago. On mainframe DB2.
I will not be bothering you with this except to ask this first question:
what documentation should I start with. Is there a Postgresql for Dummies?
The documentation that comes with the download includes Npgsql API, NPGsql, PostgerSql, PostgreSql Slony-I, pgAdmin, and finally pgsql ODBC. ???
Where to start? Something written for someone who is experienced with programming but not with this particular technology. Enough to write queries, and gain a computer-literate but not deep understanding.
thanks
