Problem with password when installing SQL

Every time I try to install SQL 8.2.6 for PT2, and this screen comes up,

I type in a password, and this screen always pops up:

What do I do?

Are you using Vista? If so, did you disable the UAC first?

Are you leaving all the other fields set to the default values? You haven't changed the account domain field value have you?

No, I am using XP and I have not changed any of the default values; they are as shown.

Have you installed PostgreSQL before?

Go to the Start menu, select Run. Type COMMAND and hit OK to open a DOS window.

Type the following:

net user postgres /delete

and hit the ENTER key.
Type EXIT to close the DOS window and then install PostgreSQL again.

I tried that a few times, and the same thing continues to pop up :(

I have no idea why this is happening.

On this first window, change the user name to "postgres2" and enter "postgres2" as the password in both fields at the bottom of the window.

Does it still give the same error?

I have the same problem. I was following these instructions: http://www.pokertracker.com/products/PT ... InstallSQL
But this error occured on the first screen where you have to put in a password (2 times):

Error: Invalid Username specified

I changed the username to 'postgres2' (and also the password to 'postgres2')
Then it installed just fine.

But now trying to convert the PT2 database I got the following error.

101-SQLSTATE-08001
Server closed the connection unexpectedly. This probably means the server terminated abnormally before or while processing the request
This is probably because of:

1)Entered wrong username/password
2)Not started the postgreSQL database
3)Not installed the PostgreSQL ODBC driver

I've searched the forums but could not find any help yet.

That error means that the PostgreSQL service is not able to start. Have you been using PostgreSQL before this and this error just started or is this the first you have installed it.

Are you using Vista?

I haven't been using Postsql before. This is the first I have installed. (did install and uninstalled it a few times today, trying to make the convert-thing work)

I have been using OpenSLL (xammp) which gave me an error installing SQL.
I've deleted this program and the error (concerning LIBEAY32.DLL and SSLEAY32.DLL files) disappeared.

I'm using XP.

Use the Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs window to uninstall PostgreSQL
Manually delete any remnants of the c:\program files\postgresql\8.2 folder afterwards.
From the Start menu select Run - type COMMAND into the window that opens and hit OK to open a DOS window.
Type the following:

net user postgres /delete

and hit ENTER to run it.
Type EXIT to close the DOS window.

Now try to reinstall PostgreSQL leaving everything set to the defaults and just entering passwords when needed.
