vista postgre install

hi
i try to instal postgresql in vista.
i uncheck the box in "pannel administrator utilisator" for use the control of utilisator account.
i try to instel the version of 8.2.7 and 8.2.6
don't arrive to install it
what i must do?

You need to turn off the UAC before you install it and turn it back on afterwards.

desactive UAC is :
go to control pannel,user account, active or desactive control off user account, and uncheck the box?
if yes, i already do it before install

when i install it they open a bow where they say :
failed to set permisssions on the installed files.
please see the logfile in C:\8.2/tmp\pgpem.log
and, when i want to open it i don't have the access to do it....

Did you restart the computer after you turned off the UAC? I don't know why you are getting these errors if the UAC is off.

yes i restart my computer after turn off the uac.

PostgreSQL is a 3rd party program, I don't know the inner workings of it.
After searching the old PT forum, I found one instance of this problem on Vista...
archives/PT2/viewtopic.php?t=24401&highlight=failed+set+permissionsIf an AV program isn't the problem then I don't know what is wrong. You'll need to contact PostgreSQL support or there is a link in the forum thread I gave above that takes you to some PostgreSQL specific forums/sites where you can look for an answer. You can use the default Access database option with PT2 if PostgreSQL doesn't work.
