What do I do to delete all hands/summaries and start the program from scratch?

You can just start a new database. File > Maintain Database Names window. Click the Add button. Enter a new description, check the "Dflt" box and then in the last field choose the "Creat new, empty Access database" from the list. Click OK to save all changes.

THEN CLOSE AND REOPEN PT and you are ready to start importing into the new db.

I was doing this because I have a feeling all the hands saved up is making my computer/poker tracker slow at times. How do I completely delete my first database with all the hands in it?

Having the old database files on your hard drive doesn't make it run slower if they aren't being used.
Open the File > Maintain Database Names window. Note the file name and folder shown in the last field of the entries you no longer want to use. These are the files you will have to manually delete from your hard drive.
