Prima Import Problem

Postby xcptmorganx » Mon May 05, 2008 10:00 pm

It keeps saying "There are no new hands in the database.", however I have been playing and the database should have new hands in it. It was working fine until yesterday evening when it just stopped finding new hands. Any ideas?

Are you using V2.17.02? If not, install the latest patch from this link (MAKE SURE YOU DOWNLOAD THE PATCH INSTALL, the second link on this page, and NOT the full version:
http://www.pokertracker3.com/products/PTH/download.php

If you are already using this, find the GameHistory.dat file that you have told PT to import hands from. Is the size of that file getting larger and larger the more hands you play or is it staying the same size?

I have the latest version of PT and the hand history file is still getting larger as I play. I have really no idea why it is not working...it seemed to stop recognizing new hands in the middle of a session yesterday.

Are you using Vista? If so, are you running PT using 'run as administrator' every time? Does Vista prompt you to cancel/allow PT to run?

Does it import hands when the timer first runs on the auto-import window (if you close and reopen it for example) and then doesn't import any hands after that point or doe it not import anything at all.

I'm using WIndows XP. To answer your second question, it is not importing anything at all.

On the Prima auto-import window, click the Configure Database Files button. On the next window, make a note of the folder location of the GameHistory.dat file that you are pointing PT to read from.

Close PT and the poker site. Go to this folder and rename the GameHistory.dat file to GameHistory_bad.dat. Then open the poker site software and play another hand. They should create a new GameHistory.dat file for you to continue to import from. Open PT and and the Prima auto-import window and see if it starts importing hands again.

Okay so I clicked the Configure Database Files button only to see that somehow the Eurolinx directory was deleted from the list....I'm not sure how that would've happened because it was on the list before and imported 4,000+ hands with no problems. After I correct that I go back to PT and tell it to import, it finds 4 new hands from that database...there should be many more. So I did what you said and renamed the GameHistory.dat just so I could start fresh and see if it works and thankfully everything is working fine now. Appreciate the help and I feel like and idiot for not noticing the problem sooner. If you know of any way to extract hand history files from the old database please let me know.

*EDIT* After messing around for a few minutes trying to figure out how the directory for the .dat file could have been deleted I noticed the Auto Detect button, so I pressed it. It found a file for Battlefield but not for Eurolinx, I remember hitting the Auto Detect button after the imports stopped working a few days ago but I guess I just didn't notice the file path change. Again, thanks for being patient and all the help.
