Regional/Keyboard conf

Hello,

I installed PT2.x on my system and it asked me to change my regional configurations. I choose the recommended option, but when I close PT2, my regional settings doesnt go back from to the original settings.

I changed it mannualy at Windows Control Panel, but my keyboard configuration is completely wrong and I cannot change it back.

Im using Windows Vista Home in English, but my regional settings are Brazilian Portuguese (I use a USA International keyboard, but I need the ""accents"" I mean, something like _ ` _ over a letter :) )

PT doesn't touch the keyboard configurations, all it would have done was change the values (for dates and number formats) that you see on the Control Panel > Regional and Language Settings window. So changing that back to your correct region would have changed what PT changed.

Hmm, my keyboard setting get changed slightly too, from UK English to US (i.e. the " and @, as well as # and £, get swapped), and I assumed that was to do with PT2 changing regional settings too.

PT changes this section of the registry...

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\International

Part of that is a currency symbol which is set to "$" but it's not specifically changing anything with the keyboard settings.

Maybe by setting the system to English settings it's doing that automatically.

Are your settings getting put back when you close PT?

It's not consistant. The one I notice is when I try to use quotes " on here.. (it's wrong now..).
I'm not sure whether it stops after PT2 is closed. I've just kind of got used to living with it. I'll try to pay more attention and see if I get the problem with PT2 closed.

I've just closed PT2, and I'm still getting the wrong character @ / ".
I also have a little icon by my taskbar/tray saying EN which when I mouse-over says English (United States), with the option to choose English (United Kingdom) when I click it. Choosing UK switches my keyboard back (as expected). I'm fairly sure that I have it on UK by default. I'll try to remember to do some experiments with this when I switch on in the morning.

Not a big problem for me, but if I can find out why it keeps switching and stop it, that'd be nice, PT2 or otherwise.. ;)
