Workaround for FullTilt & PAH

Postby GabryRox » Fri Aug 07, 2009 9:04 pm

Well, I guess it's nice to see we finally got someone's attention. Unfortunately, closing the previous discussion thread about this issue and then making the posting below (already locked) does little to address the real issue here.

Derek, I'm not sure how involved in this you've been, but if you had read through my and other posts on the 16 page thread that you locked, you would realize that your "workaround" below does absolutely nothing to help probably 95% or more of your users. Let me ask you this... do you you really think that more than a handful of your PAH customers only play 1-2 tables at a time? Seriously now, you have to realize that the VAST majority of us are playing slightly to significantly more than this at once, and therefore the "fix" you describe below is completely worthless. Have you ever tried playing 9 concurrent tables where you are in a different seat at every one? I'll tell you right now, for all but maybe genious-level savant-like players, it is simply impossible to pull off.

So if I interpret your post correctly, this is why you haven't made the fix a priority? Because you haven't taken the time to understand that the vast majority of your users cannot use your porduct in it's current state? Again, any effort at all on your part would have revealed otherwise, which just further exacerbates this issue.

At this point, all of this is probably mute for most of your customers. I know many had already gone to your competitor weeks ago, but sadly, I was still hopeful that you would be able to take care of us. Finally last night I broke down and got the trial version of your competitor's software. I've got to tell you, I was very surprised at how easy it was to set up and import my entire 300,000 HH from Full Tilt. In just using it 1 night, I'm already convinced the program itself is far superiour to yours, and since we all know that their service cannot even come close to being as bad as yours, I'm completely sold on jumping over to them now.

Yes, I would have been an eventual purchaser of PT3 if and when you ever decide to make Omaha inclusion in it a priority, but obviously you've lost me for good at this point. I know the loss of my $75 (or whatever it is) means nothing to you, but imagine how many people are in the same boat and imagine what that loss of revenue is going to do to your company. Again, I know you probably don't have anything to do with this directly, but I urge you to share this with your management in the hopes that you can at least attempt to improve your business plan/support in the future.

This was a very, very ugly situation and it was handled in about the poorest manner I've ever seen for a purchased product. Finally, I would like to know how I can go about applying for a full refund for PAH. I've lost several hundred $$ due directly to the fact I couldn't use your porduct for the last 5 weeks, but I am willing to simply get the $25 back and call it even at this point.

"Guys and gals,

We will be releasing a PAH patch but it may not be until next week. We do not feel that an immediate patch is necessary since PAH is still operational if you follow the steps below:

Make sure that you are using the latest version of PAH which is v1.19 Beta 10.2 - Download
Make sure that you are using the hand history files and not the memory scanner. In PAH go Options -> Preferences -> Poker Sites -> Full Tilt. Choose "Use the Hand History Files" and make sure that your Full Tilt Poker/HandHistory directory is listed. If not, click add and browse to and select it.
Disable "Auto Center" in both PAH and Full Tilt. In PAH go Options -> Preferences -> Poker Sites -> Full Tilt. Uncheck "Auto Center". Now do the same on Full Tilt
PAH should now be functional until we release a patch next week at which point you should upgrade and you can re-enable the above features if you choose.

Best regards,

Derek"

Great post. This is truly the worse tech support ive ever seen. I know that were not dealing with a large corporation here, but you would think that this "support" team would pretend to help. 5 weeks without a HUD has cost me thousands of dollars. They have one guy working on a patch for poker tracker two. Poker tracker three doesnt work (after I break down and waste the money on it) and they tell me to make an appointment to have a "remote installation". Yeay right. Like Im going to let some fourth rate company take control of my CPU and my personal information when they cant even come out with a damn patch in less than a month. Then they say theres no rush for a patch for ace hud. WHAT DO YOU MEAN THERE IS NO RUSH FOR A PATCH FOR ACE HUD! ITS BEEN A GODDAMN MONTH!

Poker tracker is the worst supported product ever.

Yessssssssssssss! I used PTO for one day after I bought it and went and bought HEM. I play omaha on FTP so as you can imagine my hud blows.

Bought HEM and it is indeed a far superior product. And no I didnt play omaha in my trial period either there tech guy was stuck on holdem.

It truly is amazing how bad your product is. Im trying to set this up on my 3rd computer cuz I did pay for it figured after a few months I would come back and you would have it fixed for omaha. Well I downloaded it again set it up and now the hud has more problems than a few months ago.

So as you can see im still pissed just like just about everyone else is that bought your product to play omaha at FTP and yes I play more than 1-2 tables. NOT TO SAY IT WORKS WELL WITH 1 OR 2 TABLES THAT WOULD BE GIVING IT TOO MUCH CREDIT.

EVERYONE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND JUST GO TO HOLDEMMANAGER AND YOU WILL THANK ME

The only reason I'm hanging on is for that fateful day when PTO is merged into PT3. Other than that, I agree with everything said in the original post.

I just wanted to suggest an alternative "work around" for those, like me, who use PTO and PT3 simultaneously. Instead of turning off auto-center in both FTP and PAH, turn it off only in PAH. Adjust layouts accordingly. Then, when PAH recognizes your table, just use the "put me here" feature in FTP to align the HUD with the players (you can add the player name to the pop up stat list to figure out who should go where).

This method allows you to continue using auto-center with other tables.

On Aug 7, Derek posted that a workaround for PAHUD and FTP would be released "next week", and that the update would correct the auto-center issues. It's now Aug 21. When can we expect it? I've been very patient thus far, but the lack of communication has me wondering if the issue is ever going to be resolved. Please, just let us know if and when to expect a resolution.

I'm also eagerly awaiting this fix. Any timeline communication would be greatly appreciated. That said, I really like your product and think you guys have done a great job.

I am in the same boat, "next week" has turned into 2+ weeks, and still nothing. The statement about "not a priority" is absurd because most anyone that uses HUD plays multiple tables...and you CANT play multiple tables in different seats....so the workaround isnt really a workaround at all.

I have raised this issue with the lead developer of PAHUD, but he has not provided me a time frame for this fix as of yet. As soon as I have one I will let you know. Unfortunately there is little more I can do.
