Report on Vista x64 Install

Postby Molon Labe » Sat Mar 22, 2008 4:59 pm

Context:

Vista Ultimate x64
PostgreSQL 8.3 distro from 1st post above
PT3 v3.00 beta 6 Mar 8, 2008

Problem:

PT3 w/PostgreSQL distro failed to install. When installing PostgreSQL, installer disappeared and left a couple msiexec processes running hopelessly.

Apparent Fix:

Any or all of these steps may be unnecessary, this is what has worked for me so far:

1) Uninstall failed PT3 from CP->Programs&Features
2) Disable User Account Control (see other posts here)
3) Turn off Norton AV
4) Clear out temp directories (<userhome>\AppData\Local\Temp; <system>\Temp)
5) Remove path to Cygwin bin directory from PATH. If you don't use Cygwin skip this.
6) Install PostgreSQL using postgresql-8.3.msi
7) Run StackBuilder and enable the 8.3.0.1 version of the ODBC client
8) Install the "Without PostgreSQL" verion of PT3

At this point I cranked it up and started AutoImport. It's grinding away but seems to be stuck after reading 857 hands, with spinning blue dots on the "Import" tab.

Please send us the 'PokerTracker.log' file, located in your main PokerTracker 3 directory, via the [url=http://www.pokertracker3.com/support/eoh]Support system[/urleoh] so that we can troubleshoot the issue. There must be a problematic hand history which is causing the import to crash.

Best regards,

Well, I am new to PT, but I think AutoImport is just doing what it's supposed to do. It says "import hands while you play", so I guess the spinning blue dots are just showing that AutoImport is turned on.
