PT3 and PostrgreSql, Postgre upgrade questions

[color=#4000FFokm]I have looked but haven't found the exact response I was looking for for this question...I apologize in advance if it's aleardy been asked and answered....

1. When I eventually download PT3 will it automatically "converge" with my PostrgeSql database? If not, what do I do?

2. I am currently running PostgreSql v. 8.2, do I and should I upgrade to the newest version? If so, will it mess up my DB in PT?

Stick with PostgreSQL 8.2.x since PT2 does not yet support PostgreSQL 8.3. PT3 will run fine with 8.2.x; simply download the installer without PostgreSQL.

Once you are ready to ditch PT2 for good then I would upgrade to the latest PostgreSQL version.
